What Time is Fantasy Sailing From NY

Has anyone heard what time the Fantasy is sailing from NY today? I saw an article this morning saying she would sail Friday but I have not seen what time. Anyone in the know? I would love to have my son there to see her sail out of the harbor!

Well, two tug boats have recently arrived at Pier 88 (3:40pm ET) so I'm guessing some time between 4 and 4:40 pm. :confused:

That's a good question....Leaving NY on Friday, if she would travel at the pace of the NCL pair, fairly quick, she could arrive midday Sunday. But I believe the ceremonies are set for Tuesday, so how she will 'cool her heels', so to speak, is up for speculation....

I don't believe unions, while indeed powerful in NYC, have anything to do with determining whether tugboats are used. Usually most ships sailing from here do so on their own, especially if equipped with azipods and bow thrusters. Tugs may be called for by the Pilot, if river currents are particularly strong, or high winds are forecast, as an extra measure of safety.

I just looked at the AIS site, and it says the Fantasy destination is Gorda Cay (Castaway Cay?) due 0700 ET Monday. Guess it will make a brief stop there and then sail back up to Port Canavaral for the Tuesday arrival?

I know someone on that ship and originally she had said they would be back in Florida on the 6th. Haven't heard from her lately, so I don't know if that is still the right date.

WDW Cast Members who have been invited to the welcoming at Port Canaveral have been told arrival will be around 0630 on Tuesday, March 6th.

 

That pretty much mirrors the time of day that Dream arrived last year.

 

Gorda Cay is the original name of the island now known as Castaway Cay.
