Public transportation in St. Tropez

We would like to meet up with friends who will be stopping in St, Tropez on the Marina this May. I believe it will be a Tuesday. We are on a land trip to France so we will have a car. We are staying north of Orange but would like to meet up with our friends someplace where our friends could meet us without us having to travel the almost three hours to St. Tropez. They are in port until 11 pm. Is there transportation to either Toulon or Aix-en-Provence? I know we will probably have to scrap this idea but were curious. Also, if there is someplace to meet we might be interested in going to Cassis unless someone has some other ideas.
