karen_g Posted April 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2005 Has anyone ever gotten a day room at the Atlantis? I e-mailed them to ask if they sold some sort of day-use passes, and they said that casino/shops are free, but if you want to use any of the other facilities you have to get a day room. I know about the Comfort Suites, but my ship will be there for a fairly short time (1 pm - 7 pm) so I was hoping to save some time/money by going directly to the Atlantis. Are day rooms the same price as an overnight room? Any info about this would be appeciated.
kathi29 Posted April 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2005 This is the response I got from them when I asked about day rooms..... You are welcome to visit our public areas such as the Casino, restaurants, and shopping areas. However our Waterscape facilities including the pools, slides, lagoon and beach, are for the guests of Atlantis only. Unfortunately, we do not sell 'day passes' to the Atlantis Waterscape. We do offer the Discover Atlantis Tour for your enjoyment. Discover Atlantis is the newest and most unique attraction in the Bahamas. It allows Day Visitors from cruise ships, other hotels and residents of the Bahamas to experience the highlights of Atlantis. This pass includes admission to The Ruins Lagoon, The Dig, The Upper Ruins and The Predator Lagoon. It does not, however, provide use of the pools or Waterscape. The costs are as follows: $29.00 per adult, $23.00 per child under 12 (under 3 free) Tickets can be purchased at the Temple of the Sun in the Casino, or the northwest corner of the employee parking lot. There you will be issued special wristbands and given directions.
karen_g Posted April 29, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Thanks, Kathi. Well, I probably don't have enough time to do the pools/slides anyway, so I'll probably do their $29 aquariums deal. Thanks for the info.
yankeesrule Posted April 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2005 well we were there in jan on the jewel and yes they do offer rooms 200.00 for a day pass and that is good for four wristbands enjoy it was well worth it for us that place is awsome
kathi29 Posted May 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2005 I don't figure we will have enough time for the pools and waterslides either - we are only there from 8am - 2pm or something like that. $200 sounds like a good deal if you are there long enough to enjoy everything though :)
Shar27 Posted May 5, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2005 I am only in Nassau form 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. What will I have time for and what will be worth the price? Would you bother with a day room at Atlantis? I can't do the Comfort Suites thing because I have 3 children and would need 2 rooms. What about just taking the water taxi over to Atlantis and getting the Discover Atlantis Tour? Do I have time for that? Thanks, Sharonna

Thanks, Sharonna I think you would have enough time to take the water taxi over and do the Discover Atlantis tour. Just keep en eye on the time as the water taxis only run every half hour I think(?). When I was there with my family we just walked through the public areas of the hotel- lobbies, casino, shops and restaurants. There were also some outdoor areas where you can go for free but you cannot get near the pools or beach. We were not really into seeing the aquarium so we did not pay for the tour. We just wanted to see the resort since we had heard so much about it. It really is impressive. We also spent a few hours at Cabbage Beach next to Atlantis and that was very nice. Tony. sabast1 Posted May 6, 2005 #8 Share Posted May 6, 2005 You can get a day room next door at the Comfort Suites ($150-250) which will give you access to all of the facilites at atlantis (pools, beach, slides). I have never seen any day passes that you can buy at Atlantis to use their facilites. I have also not seen very many rooms at Atlantis under $300 per day. We were at Atlantis on a Saturday afternoon (Jewel of the Sea 4/16/05) and it was very, very crowded. Crowded to the point that if I was staying there I wouldn't be able to relax. There were a lot of people just wandering around and taking tours through the pool areas (including me). Don't get me wrong the place is really beautiful and the Dig is cool but I wouldn't get a day room if I was going to be there on a weekend day. If it was a weekday though...I might consider it. Just my two cents. Scott
lbfluffy Posted May 7, 2005 #9 Share Posted May 7, 2005 Do you think it will be very crowded in mid December? We are going to be there on a Saturday. Thanks
Croozer101 Posted May 9, 2005 #10 Share Posted May 9, 2005 Instead of paying the 29.00 for the tour, we just took a taxi to Atlantis , looked all around the hotel, casino etc and around 4:00 went out onto the grounds and explored for the next 2 hrs . Went to the beach , saw the lagoons and the underground tunnels etc . No one ever stopped us or asked for a pass.
