kenmii Posted April 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2012 Hi All- I need some assistance with the shuttle in Seward. We will be arriving via train and wondering if we should take the shuttle or hire a taxi to drive us the 1.5 miles to our hotel? We will be there at the end of august. Is it easy to also take the shuttle around town at that time of year, or is a taxi the better way to go? Also, any recs for restaurants in the vicinity of the "Train Wreck" - Exit Glacier Shuttle for lunch, and at dinner at the small boat harbor? Thanks! Budget Queen Posted April 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2012 It doesn't matter. A cab will get you to where you want to go, direct, with no waits. Your lunch and dinner areas are the same. The choices range from Subway, cafe types, to full service (and costly) restaurants. I have't eaten in any that are bad. I do like Chinooks, and always eat at the Showcase- which is outside your area.
mapleleaves Posted April 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2012 I second Thorn's Showcase Lounge!! The waitress suggested the 3 of share 2 orders of halibut and we barely finished. Excellent food but it's definitely a lounge. And it's downtown, the opposite end of Seward from the harbor, maybe 1 1/2 miles. A taxi within Seward will cost about $5. kenmii Posted April 7, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted April 7, 2012 Thanks... Sounds like if we are in a hurry, and don't want to wait, then we should get a cab. Thanks... I'll look into the restaurant recs too!
