Carnival Fascination Review April 9-14 w pics

I wouldnt say it was a bad hotel. It was good enough for the overnight stay but I will pay a little more next time just to get something a little nicer. I didn't feel like I was going to see roaches or anything creepy like that. In my opinion, the bathroom was really more of the gross factor for me. The age of the place really shows thru in the bathroom so even though you know they have cleaned it, some parts are just stained forever. The bedding looked very nice and clean and was comfortable. There was a nice tv in the room but it was perched on top of a closet and looked like it would fall at any moment. Don't be scared of it based on my opinion because we all have different preferences. If I only wanted to spend 57 on the room then I think it is an acceptable place for that price. I had read some previous reviews stating lots of noise, bad area. We didn't experience that. One other note, one hallway was cluttered with stuff from the rooms so it appeared some remodeling was being done. I hope you guys have a wonderful time.

Thank you, we are looking forward to it. I am getting so excited. Thank you for the information on the hotel. It puts my mind at ease.

Yes. I used one in the lobby.

Awesome. I wanted to buy more funship dollars, but was worried about not having enough cash on hand for ports. I didn't want to carry cash while traveling, so I can use the kiosk to pull out spending cash in ports.

this is about amenities in the clamshell dish in the bathroom do you remember what was in it? used to get disposable razor, hand lotion, nice stuff. was on Legend in march, only 2 teeth whitening packets,2 breetheze strips. one use toothpaste. hope it was only on legend and not shipwide or if they are really downsizing that much

thanks

Wonderful pics! Great review as well.

I will put my 2 cents in here in regards to the amenity question. We were on Fantasy in March this year. We had 3 toothpaste packets, 1 Bienvenue soap, 1 floss and 5 breathe right strips. I guess they heard about DBF's snoring issues.

Boy am I behind the times~~tell me all about this!!!!!!!

The only thing I used it for was to check sail and sign acct balance. Usually I just use the tv for that but Fascination didn't seem to have that feature. I did notice that the obc I received for early saver only showed on my card as the primary. if I swiped DHs card, it looked like he had a balance but if I swiped mine it showed my obc against the total charges for the room. From another poster, it sounds like you can pull money too but I didn't even notice that feature. I think DH went to the casino to get some cash.

What a great review! I had been longing to see some pics of the Fascination and those were just great.

did you get a chance to see the casino? Was it smallish? did it have modern slots and such?

We play Trivia a lot...see the shows..just do a bit of everything there is to do that is so much fun on a cruise..and we do donate to the casino some. I pay penny slots..a certain amt. each night..so I am not going to lose the house gambling...but it would be fun to win for once..I never do!

For us, we have $250 OBC from price drops and we will not need that much since we prepaid tips.

With the kiosk, I can pull cash out to use in port.

Now that I know the kiosk is there, I will add another $150 in fun ship dollars, so when we get on board we have $400 in OBC and then just pull cash for ports.

Here is the description for the kiosk:

The Sail & Sign (S&S) Kiosk is a self service terminal enabling guests on board to conveniently manage and access their onboard Sail & Sign accounts. The terminal is accessed by using the touch screen monitor which allows application navigation. Throughout the screens, various navigational options are available. The functions within the kiosks are:

ü Check Sail & Sign balance

ü View statement / Print statement

ü Review or restrict Account Users

Ø Set charge limit

Ø Set-up guest as ‘Not Authorized’ to charge

ü Open new accounts

ü Apply payments (cash and credit card)

ü Withdraw cash ($5 or more); any balance left on the guest’s S&S account less than $5, the guest will receive the regular Bank of America check at the end of the cruise

ü Change bills into smaller bills (Kiosk will dispense $20 / $10 / $5)

Ø U.S bills only

Ø Bills will be converted into the next smaller denominations available; Example: $50 bill = $20 + $20 + $10

I didn't go to the casino but my DH spent an hour or more there every night. He usually goes for the table games. He use to vacation in Vegas before we married and he has never complained about Carnival casinos. I will attach the only picture I have of it, which isn't much because I forgot to tell the camera which lens I was using.
