Booking New Zealand cruise - November or March?

Our last visit to New Zealand was more than 20 years ago - we can't wait to go there again in 2014.

No, I won't ask how the weather will be like or how high the waves can be - I know that's impossible to predict precisely :D . But we're trying to decide whether to choose one of the cruises offered in November ( perhaps combined with the repo cruise Singapur-Sydney) or to go in March which might be combinable with the South Pacific.

Flights are looong and expensive to down under - so any ideas you want to share will be appreciated. The first thing we must decide is whether spring ( November) or autumn ( March) might be the better way to explore this part of the world again.

Thank you again for your help.

My own preference, base don my previous visit towards the end of the Summer, would be to go for the Autumn option. This is because the New Zealanders I spoke to all said that the Spring had been wet and stormy that year, whereas late Summer was hot and sunny!

As you say, though, nothing can be guaranteed!
