Scuba diving on PG July 2

Is anyone else going to be diving on the PG on July 2? Does anyone know if they offer you any discount if you dive with the ship everyday?

I was going to do some diving off the ship but i think it's going to be too difficult with the first tender only being at 8:30 each day.

Does anyone know what time the dives usually leave each day?

I just hope I can dive the pass in Rangiroa. I was there for 3 days in 2001 and we could not because the currect just went out the whole time. Rangiroa was one of the main reasons I chose this cruise.

Thnx:eek:

Diving on the PG is great, they have the best dive team in French Poly.

No discounts availalbe for multiple dives (I dove six times with them in March, ea dive is $80)..

It is easy to dive w/outside op..just tell Dominque where/who they will coord

and it also costs $80...I did with Hemi Sub in Raitea, and Bora Diving Center

(twice, diving with Giant Manta Rays, and Sharks)..plenty of time to take

the tender to dock, catch the dive op boat, and make it back to tender to the PG.

Diving from the PG is so convenient tho, they store and set up all your equipment & weights, wet suit..it is waiting for you each morning, after the dive brief, you hop in Zodiacs go to dive site, dive, hop back in Zodiacs for

the ride back to the PG, within two minutes your back in your cabin or at the pool.

Dives leave the ship at 0945 or 1000 tu (Table Top)/wed(Tapu)/thur(Ledges) and 0745 (shark

Gallery) on Fri.

Have fun and great diving too!

Thanks for your reply. One more question: What is their dive equipment like? Are they relatively new? I was going to take all my gear and my wifes exept for BC's. Do you think this is advisable or should I take all my gear. Is gear included in their rate?

When you went diving did they ever feed the sharks. :)

Thanks

It is all new (scubapro, i believe)...yes it is in the rate...really your preference,

only took my wetsuit, fins, mask...their equipment is top shelf...PG dive staff

did not feed the sharks--they're plenty (dozen-two dozen black tip, 1/2 dozen

lemon sharks)..but Bora Dive Center does...and it was my first time diving with

sharks...almost forgot to take a breath..thrilling. r/wes
