Can you leave ship on embarkation day after checking in?

We are sailing out of Venice and we can board early, but don't leave until 11:00 p.m. Is it possible to board in the afternoon, leave luggage there, and get off the ship until 9:00 or so? We hate to waste a day in Venice just sitting on the ship :)....

Yes - absolutely. Just be sure to note the time you're due back when you leave the ship.

Also, usually on Princess when boarding/embarking in Venice they'll put 2 private Princess water shuttle tickets in your cabin ($15.00 ea), so after checking in you can grab the water shuttle directly to St Marks square and later can return directly to the ship on the same water shuttle before sailaway time

 

For those not using the tickets just return to the shore excursion desk and they'll remove the $15.00pp from your account
