New safety regulations put in effect due to Concordia

I really think the "more lifejackets" is much needed

the article says that some of the Concordia passengers had to feel their way back to their cabins in the dark:eek:

As I stated variously in the "poll" about evacuating a ship, I feel the

most important thing is to let people know they have lifejackets

right there by the lifeboats....so that people don't have to try to

go back to their cabin run up and down more stairs, more confusion

Royal Caribbean makes this very very clear in their safety drill.

They tell you that they have lifejackets "in the ceiling" and in the "closets

on the walls"...etc.

Yes, I remember this from our RCCL cruise. We were told at the safety briefing that there was no need to go back to your cabin, they had plenty of life jackets near the lifeboats. I have never heard this at a Carnival safety briefing.
