HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO lissa: Yes, there are a whole lot of ##s flying around. If you wish to keep it simple go ahead. Less confusion is good. Learn about poker and play the poker machines. A better payback. When you go to a casino have fun.

Yes, I too, like to play 1 cent but it seems many of the new machines have minimum of 30 to 50 cents now! There are still some with 1 line 1 cent avail but not quite that many. They should just keep penny machines penny! Not saying they should allow larger bets, but allow what the machine presents itself as. I also miss real money!

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO lissa42886:You could like slots. Just realize that it does not come with good payouts. Table games are good, however, know all the rules and your potential returns if your number hits.

Roulette is a table game, however, it has bad payouts. Bet on the red or black and you get even money which would indicate a 50-50 bet. However, you have 18 chances of winning and 20 chances to lose. Not exactly an even money bet. Same goes for odd or even. 18 chances to win and 20 chances to lose. Pick columns and your return is 2-1. That would indicate 12 chances of winning and 24 chances of losing. However, you have 12 chances to win and 26 chances to lose. Then you have the single number, one chance to win and 37 chances to lose. However you only get a 35-1 payout when the payout should be 37-1.

What this means is the odds are about 5 1/2 % in favor of the house, more than most other games.

Most casinos have a "soft" opening before their grand opening. The one I worked or was open nearly a month before we had the grand opening!

Just a short plug for Revel. I was there for the "Grand Opening" over Memorial Day weekend. Great spot. The way they've designed it is very unique...quite posh - much like the Cosmo in Vegas. I don't think it will be for everyone in AC...it's more tailored to the younger crowd...and the fact that it is on the closer to the beach great.

In the 3 days I was there, I played six craps series...didn't lose one. Always good to come back from a weekend trip, pay for all your food and travel and still put cash back into the bank...

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO sept10dsm:We just came back from a cruise on the Veendam. Many of the penny slot machines (1 and 2 cents) you had to play at least a dollar minimum. That means you are basically playing 100 lines. My wife stayed away from those slots.

I will as well! I just like to be able to play what I feel and at $1.00 a spin too much for me! I remember on the Grandeur of the Seas in 2006 playing real $$ and putting in $1.00 and playing one nickel, 1 line and winning 1,800 nickels! Then I play a few more lines but the fact that I had a choice made me put money in. The large minimum takes away from the fact the machines say a penny or 2 cents or whatever. I think if many stop playing the idea of a penny machine will either go back to being able to play just that 1 line if you so wish or fade away!

Thanks for the info - I had an invite for Memorial Weekend but was in Vegas. Cosmo and everyone else took my money:mad: Good thing I pre-paid my cruise:D

Congrats on being a winner!

how does the Casino work?? do they w.draw $$ from your S&S cards?? deposit winings there?? can we use real $$?? i never gambled on a ship before and was curious of the basics.. thanks.

Definitely not a stupid question. Most cruises are flexible with using either cash or the charge card given to each cruiser. Some people prefer to only use cash so they are able to be more in control if their gambling. I have used both cash and the card. The only thing to make sure of is that you cash out all of your chips and gambling winnings on your card at the cashier in the casino before you exit the ship. Most cruises will make you do this hours in advance of arriving at the home destination, so be sure to keep that in mind. Have fun on your cruise and win big!
