shannonpb2 Posted May 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2012 The Liberty is in San Juan 7 am - 3 pm on a Wednesday. Will there be anything open that early?
Podie Posted May 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2012 I love to spend at least an hour in the morning having cafe con leche, a ham and cheese mallorca, and fresh squeezed orange juice at La Bombonera about a 10 minute walk from the dock.
Podie Posted May 3, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2012 Wow, I just saw that La Bombonera is closing or is already closed! Cafe Mallorca is pretty cool too.
sail7seas Posted May 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2012 Even if the ship arrives at 7 A.M., it isn't likely you'll be off immediately. Takes time for the ship to clear and for those in a hurry to rush down the gangway ahead of you.

I'll second this. We were there in mid April this year. The Exploer of the Seas was already docked and people getting off when we arrived. We were off the ship around 8AM. Did head for La Bombonera--good pastries, ham mallorca reminiscent of those vending machine sandwiches you get in London. Saw a sign that Cafe Mallorca was open, workers adjusting the awning. Cafe Cultura is further up the street along the Plaza Colon. By the time you walk around, have a mallorca or pastry and coffee, and head for one of the forts, places will be open. shannonpb2 Posted June 3, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted June 3, 2012 What are normal business hours in San Juan. We do want to do the forts but I also want to go to the Outlets (Polo and Dooney & Bourke). Trying to decide which to do first.
