The triumph makes a similar worthless stop. That's another good reason to avoid it.

CCL has a lot of ships that go to the w carribean, but only a couple that do the east on a regualr basis and is stupid that stop there so late.

Maybe they stop there to pick up an entertainer. Usually it seems some of the special entertainers, like a ventriloquist or magician, are only on the ship for a day or so. And they figure anyone who wants a dinner in a port of call can get off and have one.

I am looking at the Eastern Caribbean for my next cruise and would like more ideas for San Juan 5-12 midnight. I will be with teenage boys and really don't want to spend the evening in Senor Frog's (although the boys wouldn't mind!) Can you SEE anything of San Juan? Are there tours at night? Thanks for any information!

I wish you luck. We booked this itenerary on the Victory for May 15, 2005 but after I saw that we would only be in San Juan from 5-midnight and my research didn't turn up any excursions that would interest us, I switched our cruise to another ship going to the WC.

There's probably some restrictions on when they can dock at St. Thomas. If they didn't stop in San Juan you'd be in St. Thomas around 8 or 9 pm. Everything is closed there by then. At least going to San Juan you have time to do something fun.
