Either side. The best view changes constantly. We just took the train the opposite direction this morning, and we spent more time on the open-air observation car than we did in our seats. If you can afford it, book Gold-Star Service. It is FIRST CLASS. The car you are seated in is an observation car. There is an open-air car behind it, and a private dining car below. What a trip!!!!!!! I must have taken 200 photographs.

Do you have a copy of the menu for the train? I am trying to decide about buying prepaid meals, but I'd like to know the regular menu prices. Hope you read this. Thanks
