Teenagers on the Dream....enough to do?

Recommended Posts

There were very few teens on the Dream when we sailed on her earlier this month - and people we spoke to with younger children did complain that they were bored. However, I would expect more activities for younger travellers in the Summer school holiday period.

I was on the dream July last year there are plenty of teenagers (myself included) on board, once you meet up with a few you tend to not worry about the activities provided and do your own thing

OK thank you for that, I am hoping she'll find friends to hang out with :)

We were on the Dream at Easter. There weren't many teens on board but Thomson don't do anything for teens to help them meet each other. My daughters didn't really meet any other teens until half way through the week at the deck party. In my view this lack of a teen club really let Thomson down compared to the other cruise lines who do run teen clubs.

We were on the Spirit 2 years ago in August and my teenager met up with loads of others; they didn't need anything organised, they just got in there and had a good time around the pool in the day if we were onboard or around the ship in the evening; it was lovely to see so many teens having a good time socialising with others and enjoying themselves. Perhaps it's different in the Easter hols - it was certainly very lively in the main summer hols!

We took my son 18 and daughter 15 (going on 45) away for a fortnight at Christmas and my daughter met a "girl" of 20 and my son a boy of 16 and they both had a great time. They spent more time with them than with us, which was to our mutual satisfaction! :D:D

My daughter is 16, I am hoping she will meet up with other teens on board as it's during the school holidays in August, is there much for them to do on board?

As long as she makes friends with any other teens onboard, she should be fine. There is a games room with teens in mind but all the machines require money to play them. There is table tennis on deck 11 & a sports area on deck 12. The kid's club seemed to be for younger children.
