Rare tomculb Posted May 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2012 I know the weather in Alaska and especially Ketchikan is pretty unreliable. I'm wondering if anyone has done a flight-seeing trip to Misty Fjords where the weather was so bad they couldn't see enough to make it worthwhile. It's quite a bit of money to gamble if bad weather can make it a bust.
Budget Queen Posted May 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2012 There are standards for flying and visability limits. But they don't call it "Misty" for no reason. :) They do fly in the rain etc. If the weather is of significant importance, this is one flight, that has a pretty good supply of walk up space. Maybe that is a consideration for you?
psyfi Posted May 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2012 When we arrived, it was pouring. Michelle from Island Wings delayed our flight for a bit. During our flight we did not have any rain but the bonus was lots of waterfalls from all the rain that she said many would be gone in an hour. We really enjoyed that tour.
