Getting from Rome to the port

Has anyone taken the train from Rome to the port? I won't be coming from the airport but from the city center, likely the main Terminal. It seems that there will be a shuttle from the station at the port to the entrance of where the ships will be.

thanks for any information you can give me.

There will be lots of replies to this....yes...we took the train and would do it again.

Very cost effective if you can deal with your own luggage. There is a short walk from the train station to the port entrance where you catch the ship shuttle.

The walk takes about 10 minutes. Taxis may be available if you wish.
