Half Moon Cay Rental Float Mat & Lunch problem

This might sound like a stupid question, but I still want to ask to see what everyone does in this situation…

We’re not a big group, just me and my bf. I’m planning to rent the float mat in Half Moon Cay, when I go get my lunch on the island, should I just leave the float mat on my chair with my towel, sunscreen and other stuff? I will of course have my valuable with me (camera, sail & sign card etc.), but I’m just wondering what about the float mat? It’s too bulky to bring it to get lunch obviously, but will someone take it while I’m gone? I assume if I didn’t return it to the renting hut, they’ll charge me for losing it? :confused:

I don't think you will have a problem leaving it behind. I would just ask one of your fellow cruisers to keep an eye on your stuff while you are gone and then you can repay the favor and do the same for them

It will be fine...just throw your towel over it....no one is going to bother it while you get lunch.

Surprisingly, my float mat was taken once at HMC while we went snorkeling. :eek: I hope you have better luck.

Not a big problem at HMC, with the one exception.

 

Ask one of your neighbors to keep an eye on things or just alternate lunch trips with your bf.

 

I'm sure you can stand to be alone for a few minutes while he gets lunch.

Yes. We were charged, but later in the cruise we were credited for it back onto our obc.
