aft wrap deck 8 - Splendor - drawbacks?

We once had an aft wrap balcony cabin on deck 7 (Empress) of the Freedom and loved it. We are looking at the possibility of an aft wrap on deck 8 of the Splendor, which has a different layout from Freedom class, with an open Lido deck directly above the cabin. Wondering about a few things, if you have stayed in one of those cabins:

1) Will it be noisy?

2) Will things like cigarette stubs be thrown onto the balcony?

3) Is there a lack of privacy on the balcony?

Just wondering ...

Thanks in advance.

Don,

Thank you for the photo! Sort of takes care of my litter and privacy questions. Did you stay aft on deck 8? Was noise an issue?

Thanks again.

No we were on deck 7, the phot was taken from our balcony.

Our table mates had a deck 8 aft, and didn't complain about noise, but it was a European cruise.

We were on the Splendor last week and loved the ship. We were in cabin 8448, aft wrap. Our balcony was huge and we spent a great amount of time on it! The noise was not an issue but we could hear conversations from the Lido if they were standing at the railing and some chair moving sometimes.

As far as privacy goes, if you are standing by the railing, people from the Lido can look over and see you but because of the overhang if you were sitting they could not. On one side of the balcony you have a regular divider while the other side has a slanted wall so the neighbors could see you if they were looking around it. We had great neighbors who were hardly ever out!

There was never any garbage or cigarettes on the deck but did have some soot at times so be careful when you wear light colored clothes.

The cabin has a different layout but we found it plenty big enough for the two of us with lots of storage and our luggage fit perfectly under the bed. Our cabin steward was by far one of the best we have ever had!

Hope this helps...
