tocruzagain Posted May 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2005 Any quesitons about St. Thomas? Not to sound stupid, but where is Turtle Cove and is it very time consuming? We will be on the Glory in November heading to St. Thomas for the first time, and from what I've read getting off a Carnival ship in St. Thomas can time consuming due to everyone having to go through customs before getting off in port. Where is a good place to pick up some souvenir t-shirts from the island and/or should I just wait until we get to ST. Maarten for shirts and jewelry? bj3247 Posted May 16, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted May 16, 2005 Excursion was only about 3 hours or so. Not too bad. T-shirts are easy to find and you can get them 4/$10. Make sure you go up and down the side streets to look for them. Customs is annoying to say the least but it isn't bad at all. It wasn't for us anyway. Maybe 15 minutes max. Best of luck!! CaesarsNcruisin4me Posted May 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Are there lots of turtles and are you able to swim fairly close to them for pics? Do you know if its better to do the morning excursion or the afternoon one?Thanks........................Sandie
Lily77 Posted May 31, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 31, 2005 I did the Captain Nautica's Ultimate Snorkling Excursion which was Turtle Cove and another site. It was great. Only saw 2 or 3 sea turtles and 1 stingray. Went on the 10:00 a.m. excursion. Would recommend.
