Helicopter Tour, then what?

We are going to be in Kauai in September. Our Helicopter flight with Blue Hawaiin is at 1030. Should be back by the ship by 12. We dont have to be back to the ship until 4:30. Anybody have any suggestions for a way we could see some scenery during that time. Don't want to go shopping but want to see more of the island. I know it is not alot of time, are their private tour people at the port when you get off who can give a short 3 to 4 tour. All of Carnivals tours start before we get back so that is out. Not opposed to renting a car but not sure it is worth it given the time restraint. Thanks for any info.:)

Aloha

We took the helicopter tour in the am and we saw most of the island from the air - it was breathtaking.

We filled our afternoon with zip lining - very easy - very fun!

We were only in one of the valleys, but it was quite lush!

Hope you find something fun to do!

We took an Island Helicopter tour, asked that we be dropped off at the car rental, and drove down to Poipu Beach for a couple of hours. Not really enough time to go to the North Shore with traffic being what it is, maybe you could make a quick trip up Wiamea Canyon

We are taking the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter and it takes off from the airport I believe, i could have a car already rented and go right over there. Is that the Helicopter Company you used? Also, is there snorkeling at Poipu Beach? Thanks for the info.

I would rent a car and head: Option 1: to the south toward Poipu, see the Spouting Horns. Then keep driving toward Waimea. From there you can either go up and see Waimea Canyon or you can continue driving to Barking Sands Beach. Either way you are going to see some very beautiful sites and will enjoy the day.

Option 2 would be to go north. Lots of beautiful beaches and scenery this way.

The north end of the island is the most beautiful, especially once you get past Kapaa. It usually takes us about 1 hour to get from Lihue airport to Hanalei with out stopping, but you will want to stop! So many beautiful sights!! We love Kauai.

Be careful of time because the traffic can sometimes get backed up either way you go.
