geomagot Posted August 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2012 It should be a Caribbean deck party on new years eve so Caribbean shirts and party dress no dinner suits unless it coincides with the formal night
ggiant1954 Posted October 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2012 We join the dream on the 23rd Dec for 2 weeks - so looking forward to it as not been on a cruise before.... and also not been to the Caribbean either!
smul Posted October 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2012 We are also joining the dream on the 23rd Dec for 2 weeks and it is our first cruise and we too are also looking forward to it. Since the 31st is the day at sea - am I correct in assuming this will be the formal night and not the Caribbean deck party?
rams1976 Posted October 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2012 I too will be on the dream from Dec 23 - Jan 6 and on new years eve I will be having a deck party regardless of formal nights.
geomagot Posted October 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2012 I would think that if nye is on the day at sea then that will be formal night.....I expect that they will hold a deck party to see in the new year as they usually do as well as it being formal night.....busy night for the Captain
goonersue Posted October 15, 2012 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2012 We are on the Dream from 30th December to 6th January. Only a week, but it will be brilliant spending New Year on the Caribbean!

OpheliaS Posted October 19, 2012 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2012 We were on the Dream last New Year's Eve and it was classed as a formal night. We were leaving the ship the following day so were a little worried about our formal attire getting into our suitcases. We found that people wore whatever they wanted and as our suitcases weren't moved until 4am everyone had time to change if they wanted to continue partying.:) Whatever have a great time!:D
lppwrth Posted October 25, 2012 #10 Share Posted October 25, 2012 Tell me more about the Caribbean Deck parties....is it one night each week? If so is it on the first night sailing from barbados...does anyone actually wear loud Caribbean style shirts, that would be fun!!
geomagot Posted October 25, 2012 #11 Share Posted October 25, 2012 does anyone actually wear loud Caribbean style shirts, that would be fun!! Yes they Do:cool:......And it is:cool: Just Love the deck parties, there should be a sailaway deck party when the ship leaves Barbados on nye there will be free bubbly flowing.....the waiters/bar stewards join in with the fun.....captain usually does a speech at midnight and officers will mingle with the revellers...plenty of party poppers and confetti about too also should be a deck party on Christmas eve too and a visit from santa for the kids, plus a midnight carol service which is usually very well attended
