Reduced charge at Portofino's on first night

I remember reading somewhere on this site that on EOS , the

charge for eating in Portofino's is often reduced to $10 pp on the

first night of sailing. Is that always the case? How do you find out

if this discount is being offered? How much in advance of sailing is it usually offered.....And, Is it for pre-cruise existing reservations only, or can you sign up after boarding ?

It is normally from coupons provided in C&A booklets and it is a two for one coupon. Best to wait to do reservation once on board than in advance. As such you are not charged in advance and forced to have them refund one fee. There should be no issues getting reservations as normally people do not like to go on nit one and the place is empty. We did it on EOS in April.

Keep in mind that the coupon is only in the D+ and higher books.

For those not Diamond plus, check your cruise specialty restaurant options. I see tht on the liberty they have a set sa il special of portofino for $14 & chops for $21. That's a deal too. Prices only reduced for first nite.

There was also a promotion on our spring T/A where price was reduced for 4 persons booking the first night. This was for Chops or Giovanni's as no more Portofino on Mariner.I do not recall the specifics. Maybe someone else does?
