Bill L -- Tunisia???

I was just in the Azamara website and the home page has changed so you can't log in from there. I had to type in reservation in the search box to get to manage my reservation. A whole section on My Azamara is missing from the home page. I find it more user unfriendly than before the changes!! Is this a work in progress for the home page??

Also Bellevue is right about the prices. They are all double. I tried making a reservation to see if the 50% prices would show up on final booking but it does not. I canceled the tour!!!

I also did not get a phone call!!

Hello Onthebalcony -

I'm sorry that your experience with our newly enhanced website has been problematic. Your question about whether the home page is a "work in progress" is really "open-ended" in that if you and other users find it confusing then we'll certainly reassess its functionality.

I noticed that Andy provided you with links to "My Azamara" on the thread, "Azamara Website Update." I want to point out the "Club Azamara" tab on the home page is the door to "My Azamara."

http://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/club-azamara

There are three other tabs: 1) Video Room, 2) Photo Gallery, and 3) News, Awards & Distinctions. Finally, at the bottom there are two boxes: 1) Visit our Azamara Blog and 2) Le Club Voyage.

What are your thoughts about this grouping?

Finally, please stand-by for the "fix" on correcting the Mahon shore excursion pricing on the PDF to the 50% level. It should be completed very soon, but I'm unable at this time to be more specific.

The itinerary change notification process began yesterday. If you booked directly, you will receive a phone call. Emails / fax notifications are being sent to the travel agent community so that they can notify their clients who are booked on this voyage.

Thanks for your patience and my best wishes for a wonderful Azamara experience next month.

Regards,

Bill Leiber

Bill, many thanks for your quick and courteous reply to my posting.

I did get an e-mail this afternoon from our travel agent about the change from Tunisia to Menorca, with the full new itinerary listed, so they're very much on the ball too.

And a return YK greeting to you if it's appropriate, which I suspect it is.

Hi Bill,

This is my home page: www.azamaraclubcruises.com/. Club Azamara in the blue box takes me to the same link above. Nothing has changed from my previous posting. I went into your link but couldn't figure out how you got there. There should be a My Azamara on the main menu line with Special Offers, Destinations and Our Ships.

Glad to hear the Menorca trips will be 50% discounted!!

I also got an email from our TA about the change.

Thanks for your response!

Hi Anne and Bill Leiber,

Try this link, which shold be a hyperlink, and should come up to the right page when you click on it. Bill's apparently didn't hyperlink when he posted it. http://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/club-azamara

Hope that works and brings up the page with the My Azamara in a box at the bottom. You may have to scroll down to see it.

Bill did ask what you thought of the lineup on that page. Personally, I would recommend that the My Azamara box be in the top row of boxes, instead of a user having to scroll to the bottom row, because I think most people who end up on this page, accidentaly or purposely, are more likely to be looking for their account rather than looking for photos, videos, blogs, and other features there.

But frankly, I don't think most users would think of going to a page labeled "Media Bin" to find their log-in page, to manage their reservation, to do check-ins, to order shore excursions, etc. To me it doesn't seem intuitively named...or arranged.

Thanks Al for your input. I agree with you about having My Aza on the top line and being under Media Bin doesn't make any sense. I would never have looked there!! I still think My Aza should be on the home page on the dark blue line with the other entries!!

In my humble opinion!

Hi again Anne,

I should have read your post #28 more carefully, as I totally agree with you that a link to one’s account at Azamara should be on Azamara’s home page, not buried several layers down on a non-descriptively named page.

Having a clear link to one's account on the home page is what I've found on almost every online site I frequent, such as Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/, Costco.com http://www.costco.com/, HomeDepot.com http://www.costco.com/, BestBuy.com http://www.bestbuy.com/. and even Corvette.com http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-sports-cars.html etc. Yeah, I know, guy’s stuff! But it's even true with Nordstrom.com http://shop.nordstrom.com/ and Victoria’ Secret.com http://www.victoriassecret.com/ (Hey, wait......more guy stuff!!)

But also a “My Account” or "Your Account" or similar link or button is on the home page of Holland America.com http://www.hollandamerica.com/main/Main.action, Royal Caribbean.com http://www.royalcaribbean.com/home.do, Celebrity.com http://www.celebritycruises.com/home.do, and Cunard.com http://www.cunard.com/. So it appears to be a standard in the cruise line industry as well as for other online companies, and it certainly simplifies an existing customer in getting into and managing their account, making additional purchases, etc.

Hopefully Azamara will follow suit, to make their colorful website even more user-friendly than it is now.

Exactly one month, to the day, to “Anchor’s Aweigh!”
