Shrimp Cocktail

I had the shrimp cocktail on my cruise last week and it was Meh. They don't use jumbo shrimp and since we do eat it at home fairly regularly, it wasn't special. Now the shrimp cocktail in the Steakhouse was awesome!

I also tried to love the melting cake, I really did. I ordered it twice and both times it just made me feel like I was eating hot fudgey dark chocolate pudding, there was nothing cake like about it! Next time I'll be leaving more for all you WCMC lovers out there!

Must be a reason then why restaurants charge something like $9 for them as an appetizer.

Personally I only eat them on a cruise, or if they are offers at a cocktail party or during cocktail hour at a party. Have never bought them at the market for anything other than a shrimp meal, like scampi.

There are dummies out there who think shrimp is a rare commodity;) and will pay the price. Great profit margin.
