Peter Island, Baths or Jost on Short Day?

We will be in Tortola on the Norwegian Pearl on a Thursday in October. The ship arrives in Tortola at 7 a.m. and leaves at 3 p.m. We want to do a shore excursion on our own and are considering The Baths, Jost Van Dyke and Peter Island.

Has anyone been to Peter Island on their own cruise excursion? There's a ferry that leaves at 8:30 a.m. from a spot in Road Town about 10 minutes from where the ship docks and another ferry that leaves from Peter Island at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per person. The resort said we could have lunch there and relax on the beach which looks absolutely gorgeous. I just want to make sure we're not cutting the time too close.

Alternatively, we're considering going to The Baths with Dion or looking into Jost Van Dyke on our own. The New Horizons ferry times to JVD on Thursdays don't look like they'll work and the big cats (Patouche, etc.) don't seem to do short excursions, but we'll also look into BVI360. Thanks in advance for any help and insights you can provide!

although all three are doable, peter island probably has the least to offer. It is a major resort with a beautiful beach, deadmans bay. If a beach day is your preference , peter island is an okay choice, although not that much to see .

Jost has a few more choices of bars, nice beach ,but caution must be taken if this adventure is taken on your own as ferry's are not as frequent ,and usually not as accessable.

the bath are more common and seem to be quite workable in your time frames.

Josts is doable but difficult with your short time in port. There is a water taxi option in CGB but I wouldn't consider Jost for the time you would be there.

The Baths is a better option but still short. They are unique and should be #1 on anyone's list though.

Have you considered Smuggler's Cove or Brewer's Bay on Tortola? Not as interesting as the Baths but beautiful nonetheless, and you would have time to really enjoy the time there. Just a thought.

Joe at Patouche told me that he caters to the cruise ships, is your time in port just too short? Most are 7 - 3:30, yours is a little shorter...

If you ever return for a longer stay he does pick up folks at the PIR for a day at the Baths and Cooper and you can include the ride to and from PI as a bonus.
