My wife and I spend an average of $1000.00 a cruise on the slots in the casino and in the past we have qualified for a fruit basket or the like it was a nice. Now I call to find out we would have to double our play to qualify for anything may just avoid casino altogether. What's every ones thoughts

They have gotten a lot tighter with their comps. My husband and I spend more than that and for our upcoming cruise was told we each get casino cash. Not enough to write home about.

I mentioned we always got a basket previously and they told me hesitantly, "Well we could probably swing that, you are good customers," implying that we were not qualified this time but they would make an exception. We shall see on Sunday if they come through or not.

In the past we have always gotten the basket, extra water, photo coupons, strawberries, casino cash, and additional bottles of wine. Not going to hold my breath but hope we will be pleasantly surprised.

Just returned from Carnival Liberty. What a joke it is earning points at a table game! Each time, I was badgered for my room card (used as a player's card) by the dealers & pit boss to earn my "points." Gave it each time, played every night for 1-2 hrs at blackjack table. NEVER played table mininum (always 2-5 times minimum). When asked if I'd earned a free drink was scolded "NO!" One pit boss even updated the other to not comp me a drink.

Same pit boss scolded me because my husband and son (also at table) had not turned their card in (after I asked if I earned a comped drink, not them). I was told like a child "maybe tomorrow." Suprise.....I suddenly won a bunch of chips and a drink was miraculously granted! And presented like a huge favor was done.

Granted, I can buy my own damn drink, but it's the stingy principle of it all! The casino was never that busy. Maybe offering 1 free drink to each table player would increase table play and revenues? It's called "marketing."

I was on the Dream in January. I thought it wasn't the comps were quite good. This was my first cruise that I was over 21, so it was my first gambling experience.

I played strictly blackjack. I probably played a few hours per night, and definitely played over the table limit. I earned my "Drinks On Us" card on the 4th night I believe (not that it really mattered, because I had Cheers!). Although, the few days that I was "cut off" from the Cheers, the pit boss bought me drinks, and after I had the card, they would ring up the drink on that.

Additionally, I got a bottle of wine delivered to my dinner table, and a tray of cookies delivered to my room. What surprised me is that I actually won money on the trip, so I was amazed I was getting decent comps. It may have helped that I am pretty generous with tipping at the table, and maybe we just had a good casino staff.

To be honest, I never understood how the points worked, or how many I ended up with after the cruise was over. All I know is it had to be higher than 1,500.

I assume that the points are based on buy-in, which was tracked with your S&S Card, and maybe your minimum bet. I usually bet on a progression system, so it is usually not the best for comping, because my bets fluctuate so much.
