john_galt Posted October 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2012 I'm a frequent flyer on the Ft. Lauderdale webcam and always enjoy watching the ships leave port. I think it was two weeks ago that I saw the Oasis was backed in (pointed north) and I was wondering if anyone knew why? I've seen her at that berth hundreds of times and she is always pointed south. I checked this morning at she is in her normal position. Any ideas?
bajathree Posted October 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2012 Most likely to perform a life-boat drill...I have seen her backed in a couple times.
dulcimergirl Posted October 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2012 Yep, pretty regularly they have to check the lifeboats and that means one side at a time. The week we were on sept 22, they checked the port side boats. I'm sure the week your referring to they were checking the starboard side.
