Freedom of the Seas - does it ever pull into ports early?

Our cruise ship pulls into St Maarten at 8:00am - our NON cruiseline excursion is at 8:40. I'm supposed to meet at AC Wathey terminal? Will this be enough time, and do the cruise ships ever pull in early where I have less to worry about? Are there multiple ports the boat could pull into?

Ships usually arrive on-time and it takes time to clear local authorities. You should be fine at 8:40 and,of course, they will wait for you

we were on the freedom last week, i do believe we arrived early at every port and even left port early as well, I must assume that all passengers were back on board before we left early though. :)

the posted time is the time they plan on allowing you off the ship
