Hi. Anyone have information on the best coffee to buy in San Juan? Any good place to pick it up, hopefully near the cruise dock?

Try PR's Cafe Cola'o. It's in the ferry building -- so right at the cruise dock area -- and you can check out reviews on Yelp.

Do you know which dock your cruise leaves from? There are two cruise ship docking areas. One right in OSJ and the other is across the harbour next to the airport. We boarded from the airport side, I think that's the Pan American pier, I don't remember any shops near there but I wasn't looking either. We did the Starbucks thing for the 3 days we spent in PR. I bought a pound of their Peurto Rican roast, I was disappointed that they served Pike Place as the standard, I can get that down the street!

If you're looking to purchase coffee to take home there are 2 brands....

 

Coqui and

Cafe Rico

 

Both are awesome but I prefer the Coqui. Prices vary but you'll get a better deal at the grocery store there, or even Walmart.

 

Coqui prices have been going up and down for years based on the crops of course. But it IS grown and packaged locally.
