  1. I belong to a local photo club in central Florida and we take monthly field trips as a club to areas of interest. Since Florida gets hot in the summer months the July or August field trip is a stay at home project titled "What is it?". The idea is to photograph common items found in the home in an unusual way. Here are five I took for this field trip. I'll post the answers tomorrow.

  3. From what I can see on the Google's Map, there are NO toll booths on US1. There are tolls on Ronald Reagan Turnpike and Card Sound Road. https://www.google.com/maps/search/toll+booth/@25.2652419,-80.4388723,45347m/data=!3m1!1e3
  4. Maybe the government should "award" participation trophys to those who follow the government guidelines of social distancing, wearing a mask, and exhibiting civic duty.
  5. I too have been astonded at the number of Floridians that refuse to ware a mask. I live in central Florida and get the impression people think since the state opened the pandemic must be over. I'm in the over 65 age group and wonder when I will be infected when I don my mask to run errands. The local health officials have been on the news most every evening urging people to practice social distancing and to wear a mask. These pleas seem to fall on deaf ears. Orange County issued mandatory mask wear a week or so ago. Seminole County (where I live) will mandate mask wear starting July 1. I understand Daytona has issued mandatory wear as well. According to national news, Florida isn't the only state to have problems with increased infections. A report I saw yesterday said 29 states have seen dramatic increases in daily infections. Go figure.

  7. I checked on Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive facebook page and as of yesterday (May 14), it is still closed to traffic. There are areas where it is legal to park and bicycle or hike on the Lake Apopka Loop Trail or most of the roads. Here is a link to the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/lakeapopkawildlifedrive/
  8. Central Florida began to open up last week, so I grabbed my gear and headed (May 7th) to the Orlando Wetlands. When I pulled into the parking lot at 6:30AM there was only one other car there. When I left severals hours later there where 26 cars in the parking lot. Proving people wanted to get out of isolation. The place is so large and spread out that I passed only six people, and was able to socially-distance myself from them.
