  1. I made a return trip Sunday to check on the progress of the egrets nesting in Kraft Azalea Garden in Winter Park, FL. There are a lot more chicks squawking for food, and they are growing fast. It won't be much longer before some of the chicks will be getting flying lessons, and peace & quiet will return once again to the park.
  2. Yesterday was such a nice day here in Central Florida that I grabbed my camera and headed out to the Orlando Wetlands Park. The park is a man-made wetland designed to provide advanced treatment for reclaimed water from the City of Orlando and other local cities. The Park is 1650 acres in size and located in Christmas, Florida.
  3. This photo was taken on a recent late afternoon scenic boat tour in Winter Park, FL. The view is from Lake Virginia of Rollins College. The prominent structure on the right is Knowles Memorial Chapel. Rollins College was the alma mater of Fred Rogers, also known as Mister Rogers.
  4. I think the answer depends on whether you prefer to watch sunrises of sunsets?
  5. Decided to visit Kraft Azalea Park today to see how the egrets were doing with their nest building. The park is a scenic public park located in the city of Winter Park, Florida just north of Orlando, Florida, and is bordered by Lake Maitland on the North and West. The egrets are in the early stages of building and nesting. I expect the chicks to hatch in the next month. I'll keep you posted.
  6. Further down the Cruise Critic Community web page, just below the Ports of Call is a Cruise Conversations group which includes Cruise Rituals. Within Cruise Rituals are two threads that have left me in stitches at times. I think a wider audience would enjoy your posts if posted there as well. 7. Official Mardi Gras was Feb 16th, but our local town celebrated on Fed 27th. In order to attend this year, one was required to use an event ticketing website for tickets which were limited for social-distancing purposes. Masks were required unless one was either eating/drinking or in their social circle which was outlined in the event area. Although there was a band and other entertainement, the event just wasn't the same to me. But it appeared all in attendance were having a good time. There were two food trucks parked just outside the event area - a Cajun truck the "entree" and a Cup Cake tr
  8. I ventured out into the Wild yesterday with mask, sanatizer, and camera in tow to a local attraction - Lukas Nursery & Butterfly Encounter. In addition to butterflys there are also a variety of birds in the encouter as well. I also roamed the nursery photographing various subjects while the rest of the family was selection plants. Good ploy on my part because I missed the fun loading the plants and potting soil in the car!
  9. No shortage of flowers here as well. In addition to the dinosaurs, I did take other photos:
  10. Leu Gardens in Orlando, Fl is featuring a "Dinosaur Invasion" thru April 18.
  11. I was puttering around in the garage last evening and walked out onto the driveway in time to notice a hawk land in my tree. I went inside to grab my camera and to my surprise he was still there when I returned. The hawk stuck around for a good 30 minutes before I noticed he left.
  12. I ventured over to Lake Eola in Orlando Sunday to get some sunset photos. The sunset wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped, but I stayed until dusk to get some fountain shots with the city lights.
  13. Christmas 2020 has offically come to an end in our household. The tree is down but before the decorations were packed away, one last hurrah!
