Star Princess to Hawaii and AT&T Cell service

Can anyone assist in letting me know if there is any AT&T cell service on the 15 day Hawaii cruise from San Francisco? We'll be leaving soon and just curious. One side of me hopes not, and the other side hopes so. I'm certain there's service in Hawaii, but more interested if it exists when out in the Pacific?

The ship has its own cell tower which then uses satellite communication. Check with AT&T to see if they participate in the Princess plans for using cell phones at sea. Also verify what the rates will be.

Just back from Hawaii, turn your phone off till you get to Hawaii, then you will have 4 days to make and receive calls and it won't cost you anything extra.
