VideoTech Posted October 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2012 I have family aboard for the 6 day run going on now. Haven't seen anything posted on the NCL website yet, but TS Sandy is headed for Jamaica and so are they....assuming they've had an itinerary change, though. Haven't seen anything posted on the NCL website yet, but TS Sandy is headed for Jamaica and so are they....assuming they've had an itinerary change, though. Not sure how much anything will be impacted. Looks like 40 mph winds at the highest right now. http://www.wtxl.com/mostpopular/story/UPDATE-T-S-Sandy-in-Caribbean-Fla-forecast/UpeH8Ad6LEarZHOEo4GTqg.cspx
VideoTech Posted October 22, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks for the link, didn't realize the storm was that far from Jamaica right now. Cruise Itinerary is GSC, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and back to Miami...all in what could be the potential path if it picks up speed and strength. But I know no cruise line will put their ships anywhere close to threat, just wondering if anyone else has friends or family on board and might have heard of a diversion in the itinerary. Thanks! VideoTech Posted October 23, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted October 23, 2012 Just heard from on board the Pearl: They're headed towards Cozumel as the next port, instead of the scheduled Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Not sure if they'll return to the schedule and head for Grand Cayman after Cozumel - that will depend on the TS track and timing.
VideoTech Posted October 24, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted October 24, 2012 And further news: After Cozumel, Costa Maya. It's the logical thing since those two ports are just about a pair on any cruise. That will give them the required 3 ports for the cruise, so I'm thinking two long sea slow sea days back to Miami, letting TS/Hurricane Sandy pull out ahead of them into the Atlantic before they get to Miami.
