Emerald Princess #601

We have a hold on this cabin for a transAtlantic sailing next year--it's in the B2 category on the Caribe deck, aft of mid-ship. We've never sailed Princess before and I'd appreciate any comments on this cabin choice. (I do get a bit queasy in a rough sea.) I was hoping for a mini-suite but the pixie-dust fairy has yet to sprinkle magic my way.... Comments appreciated!

C601 is a standard cabin with a larger balcony (9'x9') that's half-covered/half-uncovered. The Caribe balcony cabins are generally preferred to those on higher decks because of their size. My preferred location is near the aft elevator so C601 is, IMHO, a good cabin in an excellent location.

My favorite location is about C-609 because you don't have the inside cabins across from you. The constant slamming of the inside cabin doors can get really annoying. If that bothers you too, move down a few cabins and you'll still be in the right area for a smooth sailing. The actually say the very best place to be is slightly aft of midship and down as low as possible.

Thank you both! Just dropped a note about the slamming doors to my TA. #601 is diagonally across from the last inside-cabin door in the row, but if we could move down a cabin or so, that might be a good thing. Never would have thought of that. :)

It doesn't bother some people, but it sure bothers me. On one of my cruises, there was an extended family in about 4 of the inside cabins. They popped in and out of those cabins, running to the other relative's cabin, then popped back in ENDLESSLY. Reminded me of that Whack a Mole game. Was dying to get the rubber mallet and whack them when they popped out!

Caribe deck is my preference for Balcony rooms as they are larger, 1/2 covered, 1/2 uncovered. 700's are AFT, 600's mid ship and so on, 100's forward, most motion is felt forward. So the cabin you have is midship with an extra large balcony, good job, have a great time.

Thank you! Can't wait for the trip! Our TA is now talking about locating us a few cabins further aft on Caribe deck...to the BD category from the B2 category...for what turns out to be rather substantial savings. As long as there are no slamming doors across from us (!), this seems like it might be a good move. Since the ship is large, our TA is thinking that the motion isn't going to be noticeably worse in the BD category than in the B2 category. She's gathering some opinions to help us decide...anybody here know about that?

Yes! That is my favorite category because you get the Caribe Deck deep balcony and pay less. The best location is always slightly aft of midship. C-631 is good and I doubt that you'll notice a difference between that area and about 8 cabins further forward toward midship.
