Half Moon Cay after Sandy

Any news from Half Moon Cay? Trying to find out if they experienced any damage from Sandy since they were right in the path of the storm.

 

Nothing on the Carnival page yet. The cruises that are shortened due to the storm don't mention stops at Half Moon Cay.

Storm would have still made it rough to assess yesterday. My guess is they will get an assessment today and probably make announcements on Sunday or Monday.

HMC closed to Liberty, heading to Nassau instead

Princess' private island was damaged and no ships stopping until further notice.

HMC is located between Eleuthra and Cat islands. This news article mentions both as being wind damaged and suffering from power loss.

Let's hope our "little slice of heaven on earth" (HMC) is in good shape and ships can call on it soon.

We'll be there just after the Liberty I think, so here's hoping HMC weathered the storm...

John Heald got back to me concerning HMC and he said that he expects an update from the powers that be tomorrow but at this point he has no info on damage to the Half Moon Cay.

Man I hope its OK. We are supposed to be there on Saturday. :(
