MSC Opera heads for South Africa

As a South African I am not thrilled about the Opera coming to South Africa but MSC Cruises South Africa is doing a very good job at promoting it.

 

The reason being, I just do not think it is that great a ship. I prefer the Sinfonia as the public spaces and cabins are much better and the ship has a better feel about it.

 

What is your take on the Opera heading for South African waters.

Sailed on both ships and I personally think the Opera is a nicer ship. They are pretty similar though. The only thing that I think is nicer on the Sinfonia is the thermal area.

Just checked the Berlitz guide to see what the passenger space ratio is on the 2 ships and I can see it is better on the Sinfonia. I can therwefore understand why, if the ships were to be at full capacity, you'd prefer the Sinfonia
