Kura hulanda museum

Having been there last month, let me say, it is an interesting musuem with an important story to tell. However, the story-teller/guide we had (on a tour mis-described as a walking tour of the Willemstad-Punda/area) went on a hour and a half (out of a 2 1/2 hour tour total that was already 20 minutes old by the time we reached the museum) diatribe and interactive demonstration of exhibits. At kindness, you could describe him as being a bitterly anti-Dutch person who thrived on attempting to shock and awe tourists. If touring on your own, forego the guide--the exhibits brutally demonstrate the savagery themselves--and walk through in about 30 minutes. There are many other equally interesting places and museums to see and things to do. Be advised that shops and many public places close at 5:30-6 PM local time, which is currently 1 hour ahead of most ships times.
