zqvol Posted December 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Bill Could you please check on and verify Azamara's policy regarding Visas for US citizens whose cruises end in Istanbul but start in another country. I am aware that a Visa is required. Does Azamara require these prior to sailing, does Azamara obtain them for all passengers while on board, or is there a kiosk at the port to purchase them upon disembarkation. We are on the May 25th Journey voyage Athens - Istanbul. Thanks
Bill Leiber Posted December 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Bill Could you please check on and verify Azamara's policy regarding Visas for US citizens whose cruises end in Istanbul but start in another country. I am aware that a Visa is required. We are on the May 25th Journey voyage Athens - Istanbul. Thanks Hello Zqvol - I'm pleased to inform you that guests who will be disembarking in Turkey will be able to secure a visa onboard for a fee which will be less than $50 per person for U.S. Passport holders. Also, in searching for this information on our website, I learned that we don't feature a specific list of countries of where visas are needed for any given nationality. The below copy from our website states that guests are responsible for securing that information. With 50% of guests being from outside of the United States, this becomes a major undertaking to create, monitor and update. Visa It is the responsibility of the guests to obtain information on countries that require visa on your voyage and Cruisetour, and then to obtain the appropriate visa. Please contact the Embassy (Consular Services) of each country on your voyage or the visa service of your choice for specific visa requirements, information, forms and fees based on your nationality. Please be sure to commence your visa process to obtain required visas as early as possible in advance of your sailing. Certain countries, such as for instance Brazil, require you to use embassy services based on your country of residence and/or country of passport issuance, and obtaining the visa may therefore be time consuming. Best wishes for the holidays and the New Year ahead and your forthcoming Azamara vacation.
