blondie1234 Posted December 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2012 What kinds of cars/vans do the various tour companies use in St Lucia? Are they vans? We find vans to be cramped and also difficult to get up on because there is often a large step. Any companies offer more like a minibus? or regular bus or car? reedprincess Posted January 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2013 What kinds of cars/vans do the various tour companies use in St Lucia? Are they vans? We find vans to be cramped and also difficult to get up on because there is often a large step. Any companies offer more like a minibus? or regular bus or car? Most tours are in 12-14 seater mini-vans. There are a few larger 40 passenger bus type vehicles, but not many. Hope that helps.
blondie1234 Posted January 1, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 1, 2013 When you say minivan, do you mean more like a van, with seats like a backseat of a car? (like a van that has two rows of seats like a backseat of a car)? Or do you mean a minivan that is kinda of like a minibus, where you have your own individual seat? One member of the party has bad arthritis so when it is a typical van (first scenario) it is often hard to get up and she cannot stretch her legs. Also seats are squooshed together and it is much more uncomfortable than when it is a minibus-type thing with individual seats. So I am trying to see whether they have the minibus type thing. reedprincess Posted January 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2013 Most are 12-14 seaters with bench seating - and not a lot of room between the benches. She can take the front seat, which has lots more room, but can be a bit awkward to get into - there is a bit of a step up, not very high ( I am 5'4" and have no problem getting in) and the drivers are more than happy to help anyone in/out of vehicles. You can see some pics of the different vehicles on TripAdvisor under the reviews for different operators. That may help. Also, most of the websites for the different operators have pictures of their vehicles, I would suggest checking those out also. Good luck and enjoy.
