I read there is an effort to have st lucia entirely w wifi free this year. Does anyone know if it happened? Can you get free wifi in most areas of Castris near the port?

LOL - wouldn't that be nice? Pipe dream, but a nice pipe dream!! The island is not close to being completely wifi capable. Perhaps someday - but not this year, that's for sure!!

There is free wifi at the restaurant upstairs in La Place Caranage. You can get the signal in the stairwells also - you will find some crew camped out there. I don't know of any on the other pier, Pointe Seraphine. You could always ask the crew - they know all the wifi/cheap internet places all over!

In town, there is wifi at Rituals Coffee house at Blue Coral Mall, about 10-15 minute walk into town - just ask someone where it is.

Not the best place to try and get a signal - there is more up in the Rodney Bay area, about 30 minutes north of the port, again at the Rituals coffee house - only this branch is nicer and there is a good beach nearby, etc.

Perhaps another island would be better. Good Luck!
