Just wondering what people's experience are with getting drinks through? I am looking at purchasing the unlimited soft drink package so I am covered there, but wouldn't mind bringing a couple of cartons of juice and some bottles of water. Just wanting to know if i am wasting my time and they will definitely get confiscated.

We took an unopened 1.25ltr bottle of water onboard in our hand luggage and nobody said anything and it wasnt confiscated. Juice might be a bit iffy tho with quarantine.

Oh that was the other question whether it would best to have in my hand luggage :)

Would depend on the cruise line's policy. If you are departing Sydney then quqarantine won't care about you taking fruit or food. Check the written policy of the cruiseline you are travelling on.

RC specifically state they don't allow you to but have read so much on the boards that people still bring them and get them through but I was just wondering more specifically at Sydney.

I have always got cases of water and bottles of soft drink through at the OPT. I even stick a luggage tag into the case of water and send it with my luggage.

yep. I read all of that before our cruise too, and I rang RCCL Australia pre cruise and was told "No liquids of any kind to be brought" (they changed the wine policy a couple of weeks after our cruise to allow a bottle per person at embarkation). We boarded at OPT Sydney late October. I took an overnight bag with bottles of water, pepsi max and cordial, put a tag on it, and dropped it with the rest of our luggage. It was delivered to our cabin no worries.
