Dicenator Posted January 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2013 I just booked the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas for Feb. 10th. I was just on the Enchantment of the Seas and found their craps table to be very good. If anyone has been on the Explorer of the Seas within the past year could you commment on the characteristics of the table. Bounce etc., any heat from the crew, how crowded was the table? Thanks, Dicenator
sailor_jimc Posted January 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Even if their table conditions are great, the 1x odds is not going to be very favorable... just saying..
AveryDeDog Posted January 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2013 I'm on Explorer 2/24. Never had a great experience in a cruise ship casino. Been on Oasis and on Norwegian Dawn. The most fun was the slot & BJ tournies.
Dicenator Posted January 16, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted January 16, 2013 sailor_jimc, The 1X odds is somewhat of a detriment. What I find though is if the table is good for my throwing then I tend to get some really long hands where I'm making 80 to 85% box numbers. Usually by throw 10 I'll be across on all the numbers so the winnings really add up. The table conditions, bounce characteristics, are by far the most important consideration for me. I've never lost money on a cruise ship playing craps since 2008 when I first started playing. The very bouncy tables cause me some difficulty and it usually takes me a few days to adjust my throwing to be able to get some good results. For 6 months now I've been practicing to soften my throws so that I can get better results on the bouncy tables and I think it is successful. sailor_jimc Posted January 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2013 True I guess, i fyou are able to throw a bunch of box munbers then the odds bet becomes less important to the overall profit. I didn't consider that. I also tend to play come bets instead of placing bets when a table is hot. I guess at 1x then that would not make as much sense since your profit is not there on the come bets.

In the above scenario, when you are the shooter, do you normally do place bets (and buy bets) across ALL the box numbers, or you just place only 6 and 8, or do you do just pass line bet and additional come bets to build up the point numbers to capture your rolls? Thank you and good luck to your upcoming trip to the table. -vvv
Dicenator Posted February 4, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted February 4, 2013 I place bet the inside numbers. If my throwing is good and the hand gets past 10 or 12 throws I'll add the 4 and the 10 as place bets. If any of the numbers are hitting with a high frequency I will press them. Most of the time I only bet on myself and I will bet on my wife is she is playing. I will never bet on someone who I've never seen throw the dice. If they prove themselves to me over a few hands then I will make place bets usually the 6 and 8. Dicenator
Grandpaul Posted February 4, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 4, 2013 I would never play single odds. that's like playing Blackjack where they pay 6=5 on BJ. Come bets are the best way to play and I'm not going to short myself on the odds. You will lose.

Press and move outward when you have a good roll. I think it is best to bet on your own skill set than relying on some random shooters unless they prove they are dice worthy!:) Looks like you don't favor the Pass Line / Come bet and taking the 'maximum' (single) odd. BTW, (you probably have already done that) for the 4 & 10, would it be better to do the "BUY" bet instead of the "PLACE" bet to lower the casino edge? --vvv
