Some questions for those who have taken a trip to Caye Caulker with Coral Breeze?

We booked an excursion to Caye Caulker through Coral Breeze Tours based on reviews we read here and on Trip Advisor. All of the reviews I read state that the meet up place was at the Wet Lizard inside of the Tourism Village, but I just received my email from them with instructions to meet outside of the iron gates just past Terminal 4.

One of the reasons we chose to book with Coral Breeze is because we had heard that we wouldn't have to go outside of the gates to meet up with them. After reading the email, we are a little nervous about going outside of the Tourism Village

Has anyone else had to meet them outside of the gates and if so, are they hard to locate?

We are booked for this April..I had heard they moved the meeting place. We were there last March and talked to them, as I wanted info , and we could not go with them then. If it right outside the gate, I don't think it will be a big deal at all. You read so much about all the dangers, but when you are actually there, it doesn't feel that way, at least to me, so I am not concerned..Please report back after your cruise if there were any problems..Thanks..

I had to meet up with Cavetubing dot com when I was there over Thanksgiving. There are so many people out there meeting up with their excursions, it is very safe. I'm sure they will have a person with a sign for the excursion with your name on it and they will bring you right over to the bus. I wouldn't be concerned at all.

Was with Coral Breeze tours in December and failed to read the email that stated that they had moved outside the gates. After verifying from security inside the port, I was told that they are indeed outside the gates. There was a long line of people inside the building that gets you out. This kinda of got me confused as I stood in this line and after awhile figured out these people where lining up for tour buses. I would suggest that you work your way thru these lines to get to the exit.

Like you, i was nervous about going outside the confines of the terminal. Anyhow, when I got outside there was a guy holding a hand written sign with coral breeze tours, he also was asking people if they were looking for Coral Breeze tours. Their new office just outside the gate and to the left.

In the end everything worked out. I like this operator so much that I have booked them in April for the Island Break like you.

Thank you so much for the confirmation on the meeting place and the advice! I've been checking the 10 day forecast and it's showing that there is a 60% chance of rain Sunday through Wednesday so far and Wednesday is the day we are supposed to be there. At this point, I'm not confident that we will be able to make port if it's going to be storming for a few days before we arrive and I'm not sure that I want to get onto a tender or water taxi and be dropped off on an island in the rain so I think we may cancel if the forecast doesn't change by Friday.

If we do decide to cancel, I will stop by and let you know so you aren't expecting me to report back. If we don't then I will try to get a few pictures of the port area and the meeting area to use as a reference.

I just wanted to give an update on our plans. The 10 day forecast changed in our favor last night so things were looking up until this morning when I received an email from Coral Breeze saying that they canceled our tour because they didn't have enough people sign up. Now I'm not sure what we are going to do because I really want to visit Caye Caulker. I guess we are going to spend the day exploring the ship.

I believe that we are signed up for the same excursion To Caye Caulker and we have not received an email telling us they have cancelled it. We really want to go there so I hope that they do not cancel us. I just booked it last week and got an email confirming the reservation.

The email they sent told me that they canceled the 9:30 time slot. I don't know how true that is though. When I sent a reply inquiring if we could do the other tour that went to Caye Caulker they blamed the cancellation on Carnival for changing the port time for the Legend from 8-5 (7-4 Belize time) to 9-5 (8-4 Belize time). Carnival did that back over the summer so I'm not sure why they would let me book it, pay them a deposit and give me a confirmation if it was a problem. They even sent me the instructions for the excursion two days before they up and canceled it.

In my opinion, they are not a very honest company since they canceled my excursion and told me that nobody else was going, but you're booked on the same one and yours wasn't canceled. I do hope that you get to go. I'm sure you're still going if you haven't heard otherwise.

  • 1 month later...

We took this exact tour with Coral Breezes last week while on Crown Princess. I had no reservations about meeting them outside the tourism gate. The instructions they provided to find them were exact and easy to follow. They were literally right outside the gate waiting for you and escorted us to their office which was just around the "corner".

I would have NO concerns about this tour and it's meeting location being outside the tourism village.
