Luggage drop off

We are leaving out of San Juan at 8:30 at night on April 13th...my question is, how early can we drop off our luggage (not board) at the cruise ship dock?

My most recent experience at San Juan was last March, and they started taking bags about noon.

We are normally at the pier in San Juan before 11 am and always are able to check out bags. Normally on the ship before noon.

 

One year (few years back-2006 I think) we dropped out bags off at 9 in the morning and never boarded until around 3 in the afternoon.

On January 12 they've started at exactly 11 am, and the whole check-in for us took not more than 20 minutes. The cabins were ready at 1. The buffet was OK, busy but not overly crowded.

I'll throw my experience out there. Take it as you will. My DM had the idea on my last cruise to San Juan, to drop off everyone's bags off first then get the family together and go back together. (We have a large group with some disabled members). It was great in practice, however I kept my bag and then checked it in when we arrived 3 hours later. I got my bag first! Since they were one of the first cages full of luggage, they were loaded first, and then all the other cages in front of it. My bag was delivered at 5pm, they didn't come with the rest of the parties bags until almost 9pm. :eek:
