Baby Beach - Water depth?

Waer begins very shallow and stays at thigh height foe a long while. This makes splashing and kinda swimming very nice for young children because they can still touch the bottom. Think of it as a 2.5 ft swimming pool. As you go further out it get deeper but there is no sudden dropoff. It is gradual.

My kids LOVED this beach. I wish we had spent more time there. The sand is superfine and fun to play with.

Enjoy,

This a great beach for children and adults, we had a wonderful day there on our April cruise, we had with us a young fellow not real comfortable in the water, BUT he loved this beach was not at all frightened. You will have a great time there.

...and the water is as warm as your bathtub, so perhaps not as refreshing.

Thank you all. I was hoping this would be the best beach for us. No big waves and shallow water. I will need it after our jeep tour.

The darker sections you see in the photo are grassy areas in the water. This is a good place to look for fish as the seemed to hide in the grass. When we visited in last June (2005) the deepest part was maybe 4 ft deep, but I was told that hurricane Ivan changed some of the features of the beach. I am going to visit Baby beach in the next two week so I will post new info after 6/25.

Thank you again. I am planning on buying snorkel kits for the kids from Walmart and they will be able to use them there.

I will be looking forward to your comments when you return.
