parody Posted May 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Possibly you may already be aware, but some websites (e.g., Orbitz, Travelocity, and SmartRover) will search air fares for you periodically throughout the day and send you an email if they find something that meets your criteria. Have you tried these options?
serene56 Posted May 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Hang in there - you got lots of time. I got my airfare a few weeks ago for next February for Phila to Tampa for 123.00 pp including tax and service fees. Keep looking at all the online agencies like the previous poster stated then check on sites from the differnt airlines. I found United to be the cheapest for me. Since I booked my air I seen it go higher to 181.pp. So just check and check. parody Posted May 4, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2004 If you fly this route frequently, you may already know the answer to the question: "what is a good air fare?". If not, you can go to this site http://farereport.com/ which contains (obviously, historical) average air fares for 6000 origin/destination pairs in the US. For ALB-FLL the average air fare was $146. Since fares seem to be about $226 now, it would seem that waiting and periodic checking, as you are currently doing, is the way to go.
