ss Rotterdam (hotel ship) shuttle to ms Rotterdam (cruise ship)

KBC

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on HALs ms Rotterdam later this year and have booked to stay overnight pre-cruise at/on the old ss Rotterdam (hotel ship).

As we are driving to the port, we intend to leave the car at the ship/hotel car park for the week.

Can anyone advise me whether or not there is a shuttle provided from hotel ship to cruise ship.

I believe the hotel ship car park is the recommended parking location once the boarding documentation is available to view.

Many thanks for any assistance.

As far as I know there is no shuttle. Despite the name the old Rotterdam has little to do with HAL anymore.

It is just a short cabride away.

Hi Ine

Thank you for your response.

You are quite right, the hotel ship has no connection with HAL nowadays. However, some weeks ago I read a post on this forum, which explained that HAL recommend the parking facility at the hotel ship for those guests arriving by car. I am sure the poster quoted or pasted the information from their embarkation information, and included the fact that a shuttle would be available between the 'car park' and the cruise ship. I thought I might have imagined it but DH remembers me reading it out to him at the time.

Still, either way, it is a minor detail and if there is no shuttle, we will jump in a taxi.

Cheers

Hi,

I went on a cruise to the Norwegian fjords on the MS Rotterdam last July. The following information was contained in my Holland America Line travel documents.

Dermot

Cruise Port Rotterdam

3007 GA Rotterdam

The Netherlands

LONG TERM PARKING INFORMATION:

Address

3072 AM Rotterdam

PLEASE NOTE:

To make your visit to the terminal easy and convenient, guests

arriving by personal vehicle have the option to use the long term

The parking is next to the ss Rotterdam, a former Holland America

Complementary shuttle service will transport you from the parking

area to the cruise terminal and back again at the end of your cruise.

The cost of parking is €13 per day. Payment is due upon your

return, aboard the ss Rotterdam, entrance 1 at the customer service

desk. Payment may be made by cash, credit and debit cards.
