day sail in St. Thomas with late arrival?

We are on the FOS eastern for Spring Break this year.

Last time we did a day sail to St. John and had a great time

but it looks like we don't dock in St. Thomas until 11:00 am

and all the charter trips I look at leave in the morning.

Does anyone know if any of the day sail trips can accomodate

a later sailing time. I realize I could charter a sailboat but there

is just my DD and me so I was hoping to find something in the

$140.00 pp range

11:00 am seems like a late time to dock !

You can check with Morningstar Charters. We arrived in St. Thomas early (9am) but they seem to base their schedule off of the cruise ships' schedule. We sailed to St.John's Honeymoon Bay and swam and ate before heading back. It was the absolute highlight of our cruise and we had the best time!

We prepaid and it was $130/pp - may be less if you're going out for less time though.

(I wrote a review and went into detail about the excursion if you are interested. The link is in my signature)

You may have to do a Royal excursion if all the charters are leaving earlier. I hope you have fun either way! And yes, I agree, 11 am is late! What time do you have to be back at the ship at?

Check out the Fury.

Last time we were in St. Thomas, we did this. They had two sailings, one in the morning and one in the afternoon (I believe noon).

They leave right from Havensight, and the price was about half the cruise ship excursions, went to Buck Island, snorkeled with the turtles.

Great trip.

  • 1 year later...

Please be sure to check Morningstar charters, they have two boats and can accommodate up to 12 people and sail along next to each other. Nothing cooler than seeing over 100 years of sailing history under full sail 3 feet apart at 7 knots. They literally handed rum and juice back and forth from one boat to the other under full sail! AMAZING
