mapleleaves Posted February 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2013 You didn't indicate what this trip consists of ... cruise, tour, 20 day DIY? Visit your library and browse thru the travel section for Alaska travel books that appeal to you. I'm a visual person so I prefer travel books with lots of photos. Most common are Fodors, Frommers, Insight Guides, Lonely Planet, National Geographic. There are also a couple of books specific to Alaska cruises .. Frommers, Ann Vipond. If you're doing a road trip, buy the Alaska Milepost. Many towns will send a free Visitor Guide...... google any town's name with Visitor Information or Chamber of Commerce to get the town's web site. ie http://skagway.com/
