DebbieOinKC Posted June 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Has anyone stayed at the Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel? Just wondering if it is in a good area. Thanks for any info.
signman Posted June 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2005 It's fine. It's in the Central Business District (CBD) which at night is pretty deserted. But you're 2 blocks from Canal Street and the French Quarter.

gcruizer Posted June 20, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2005 They have a couple of hotels close to the pier, however most are a long way from canal street and the french quarter and you will still need a taxi or suttle bus to bring you. (pretty long walk without luggage) Depending on when your cruise is, will dictate the rates, during the summer, the hotel rates are pretty reasonable. You could stay at the Royal Sonesta in the quarter on bourbon street for $99. The hotels close to the pier will be close to that amount anyway because of the proximity to the convention center. The Riverside Hilton is close and connected to the pier by a shopping center. I would recommend a hotel on canal street or the quarter, there are many from the Ritz Carlton to the Holiday Inn. Check hotels.com or expedia.com. Hope this helps.
