On the Carnival Magic February 17

embarkation was fast! got it right carnival!

people smoking on balcony still sucks, but not an ender

got my luggage around 5. not ideal but ok none the less

clean ship with a lot of nice extras. comfortable seating on deck, hot tubs and computers strategically placed around the ship. nice

steak house. have to say I was a little disappointed. there was no lack of effort on their part but out just wasn't perfect as in the past. wasabi mashed potatoes very gritty. the wedge salad with blue cheese was just lettuce and a very thin buy cheese dressing. the entrees were fantastic.

the location of the steak house was interesting. on the conquest it was away from everything, on Magic it's right next to the rowdy piano bar. I like both places for the mood they provide, but not together.

beds are amazing comfortable. rough seas last night but the bed rocked me to sleep.

if you have any questions while I'm board, I will be happy to help. I will update every morning.

If you are assigned the Southern Lights dining room, there was some great singing by one of the waiters after the usual crew song and dance. We didn't catch his name, but we had early seating. By midweek, almost everyone you talked to mentioned his singing.

If you spend time in the casino, Tamas, the pit boss, is a great guy! Lots of fun, loves to joke, and if you see him, tell him Miss Jacqueline still thinks he isn't just the man, he's THE man! LOL

The area overlooking the Lido deck has some very comftorable seats and a great view.

Don't forget your lanyard. They will hole punch it for you at guest services.

If you are going to the casino bring cash or they charge you a 3% upcharge using your sail and sign card.

If you like to have 3 or 4 beers during the day and 3 or 4 drinks in the evening and don't tuck away any booze (if you already don't know, do not put alcohol in carry on except your 1 bottle of wine per adult), do the all you can drink plan...drinks really add up and are expensive. Of course if you do excursions all 3 days that should be considered as well.

Doing elegant tonight. Will update in the morning. Cheers

pictures were different. they coincided with early or late seating. that and waiting do long for anytime seating taught me to pick one. sorry free spirits, best way to go.

had beautiful weather in Jamaica. had planned to go to doctors cave beach but taxi driver talked us into Aquasol. it was a nice beach with all the amenities. not to crowded. water toys were broken which my son didn't like. $5 each way and $5 to get in. drinks and food were a little expensive. I would like to hear about doctors cave just to see if we made the right choice.

I wish I had more energy to go to the shows, but we get up so early and party kind of hard during the day. son went to illusionist tonight I will let you know how he liked it. went to red frog again. great fried peas!!!!! and the music is great

dinner so so tonight but more than edible. going to Cayman tomorrow. going to just hang around the port and check out the museum. will let you know.

deck 12 adult section is, really nice. should check that out when on board.

salt and pepper shakers need bigger holes!!! funny watching everyone shake and, shake and shake. breakfast I main dining room is very good.

Humidity seems to always run havoc with salt and pepper shakers. Ask a waiter's assistant to open and stir, or do it yourself if they are the screw on types.

Cayman today...I've of 3 islands as I learned in the museum. museum it's ok, not great. I really thought I would heat more about pirates, but I goes they don't claim that part of their history. ate at margaritaville. over priced and so so good, but my son liked the water slide and we sat I a window over looking the port so a good time had.

I did the water slides on the ship today. they are great. in fact I am impressed with the water works. families will love that

doing the Italian restraint tonight, will let you know.

the Italian restaurant was a nice change. it's worth the $12 if you need to change things up.

if you aren't familiar with cruising, most days and nights there are photographers documenting your every move. especially on elegant night. pictures are usually pretty expensive, but these are really good photographers. we actually did a session around the ship with one last night. no charge! I'm sure they will be great and they will get their money then! :)

cozumel today. once again nothing planned but we will see what happens.

stayed around port and did a little shopping. cozumel is, always my favorite stop, but we never leave the area around the ship lol. I love to sit in Fat Tuesday with a balloon hat on and drink frozen drinks. there were 4 shops in port. we were docked fight next to Conquest. brought back some good memories.

dinner in the dining room was very good. I'm seeing a trend. when they have filet mignon or rib eye on the menu, get it!!!!!!!

last day at sea today. bitter sweet day. Serenity deck has become my favorite place and I will probably be there all day. going to try the burrito bar for lunch. will let you know.

I'm the worse spell check checker ever! Sorry. and meant to say that the prime rib was outstanding when on the menu as well. fyi, they have on the left of the menu a standard menu. I try to avoid that. the right side has more variety. remember you can get more than 1. for example create your own serf and turf.
